About this event

IP & Trademark Essentials for Small Business Success

Newable have partnered with Clifford Chance and JPMorganChase to offer a series of legal workshops in 2025 for London-based businesses new to exporting.

Whether you're a start-up or an established SME, these workshops are designed to confidently empower you with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate your business's legal aspects in the UK and internationally.

Own Your Ideas. Defend Your Brand. Grow With Confidence

Your brand is more than just a name — it’s your reputation, your edge and your future. But without the right legal protection, your most valuable assets could be vulnerable.

Workshop format

The first part of the event will include a detailed overview of intellectual property, trademarking and dispute resolution, providing SMEs with valuable knowledge and tools to help them build resilience in their businesses.

·       The second part of the event will give businesses the opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion and networking session with experience lawyers at JPMorganChase and Clifford Chance, and like-minded entrepreneurs facing similar challenges.

What will you learn

  • The essentials of intellectual property: what it is and why it matters
  • How to protect your brand name, logo and content from misuse
  • How to register a trademark in the UK and internationally
  • Common legal pitfalls (and how to avoid them)
  • How to leverage your IP as a strategic business asset

Who should attend

  • Start-ups, scale-ups and established SMEs
  • Founders, business owners, marketing leads and product developers
