The End of the EU Transition Period - What does this mean for London businesses?
About This Event
The UK has left the EU and is now preparing to leave the EU single market and customs union. London businesses of all sizes and across all sectors will experience changes to how they can trade and operate.
The London Business Hub is here to support you to prepare for and navigate any changes as a result of the UK leaving the EU. We are here to help you minimise disruption to your business and take advantage of new opportunities.
This webinar will assist you in identifying what you need to do to make sure your business is ready for the end of the EU exit transition period. It will cover employment, trade, intellectual property and travelling to and from the EU.
Why should you join this virtual event?
Your business should act now to start preparing for the new trading rules that will be in effect from January 2021. This virtual event is designed to guide your business across four key areas:
1) Employing EU nationals in the UK, or Employing UK nationals in your European Office
Free movement is coming to an end on 31 December 2020. The UK has made changes to its immigration rules that will start on 31 December 2020. These changes are likely to affect both EU nationals and other non-UK nationals working in the UK. If you employ UK nationals in a European Office, they will also be affected. Learn how to support your staff and encourage them to take action.
2) Trading with EU companies, the UK Global Tariff, imports and exports
Trading across borders will change significantly at the end of the year. This includes changes to cross border trade documentation, the UK Global Tariff (which will replace the EU’s Common External Tariff). Hear the latest on UK-EU trade negotiation, temporary imports and exports between the UK and the EU, and future trade agreements. Learn how to identify which of these changes are most relevant for your business and/or your supply chain.
3) Intellectual Property (IP) and EU Data
Rules governing the management of intellectual property (IP) and data are changing. This section of the webinar will cover areas such as data transfers, websites, domain names, technology providers, and IP rights. Discover how to secure your IP and how your business practices may need to change.
4) Travelling to and from the EU
As freedom of movement comes to an end on 31 December 2020, business travel will also change. The UK has also made changes to its immigration rules that will start on 31 December 2020. This will affect travel to and from the EU, as well as living and working in the UK, for both EU nationals and other non-UK nationals. Explore the key steps you need to take and how you can support your staff or business partners.
