Consisting of a three-phase programme - get ready for the market, visit the market and exploit the opportunity, the Global Business Innovation Programme is designed to detailed market knowledge, introductions and cultural benefits to enable you to effectively access and exploit a market with new collaborations and partnerships, which businesses would find difficult to obtain themselves.
You will receive invaluable wrap around support by an expert innovation & growth specialist, who will help your business maximise the opportunities identified, including developing innovation projects with partners in the territory.
Why apply to attend Industrial Decarbonisation in Israel?
This Global Business Innovation Programme visit focuses on Israel’s thriving innovation ecosystem. A country starved of natural resources, Israel has put innovation first and now ranks 6th in the Global Clean Tech Innovation Index.
The Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge is a programme funded under The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF). This initiative is particularly relevant for businesses developing low-carbon technologies that will increase the competitiveness of the industry and contribute to the UK’s drive for clean growth, through:
- Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)
- Low carbon hydrogen
- Fuel switching on industrial sites
- Low regret technologies
This challenge is the first active funding stream as part of a wider government commitment to cut industrial emissions. It will develop CCUS in 2 industrial clusters by mid 2020s, aiming for 4 of these sites by 2030 helping capture up to 10 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. It will develop at least one low-carbon industrial cluster by 2030, and the world’s first net-zero carbon industrial cluster by 2040 in support of the Industrial Clusters Mission.
During your visit you will have the opportunity to find potential innovation collaborators and partners and develop your network in the UK and globally, explore future industrial decarbonisation opportunities and gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Israel.
Over the last 3 years, Israel has seen a rapid growth in the areas of Clean Energy, Green Construction, Agile Supply Chains, Novel Materials, and Circularity; known as the ‘Start-Up Nation’.
With highly ranked entrepreneurial capabilities, and the world’s highest investment in R&D, this young and energetic ecosystem presents many opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and development.
Israel has over 600 climate-tech start-ups and over 560 investment groups investing in its climate-focused start-ups. Between 2018-2020, total investments in climate tech reached 2.97 billion USD.
