  • As a HR & Board advisory expert, Mike specialises in coaching teams and individuals by better understanding themselves and their colleagues. His open, honest and positively-challenging style engages with businesses to understand their goals and translate these into strategies that fully harness and engages the whole team. 
      Emma McWalter

      Programme Manager, London Progression Collaboration 

  • As a Programme Manager, Emma leads on delivering our support services to SMEs, giving them the knowledge, confidence and practical tools, they need to take on new apprentices.
  • The London Progression Collaboration (LPC) is a not-for-profit initiative, to ensure that low-paid Londoners can secure better-quality, higher-paying work by supporting employers to increase investment in apprenticeships.
  • Apprenticeships have numerous benefits for businesses, from filling vacant roles with diverse new talent to boosting staff retention through a compelling upskilling offer. The LPC aims to help businesses experience these benefits for themselves, at the same time as supporting Londoners to progress into work.

  • Google Career Certificates offer a free upskilling training programme for businesses, providing online training for high-growth and high-demand careers.


Who is this event for?

If you are a London-based small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), or an entrepreneur looking to gain more tools to engage and retain staff, this virtual event is for you. This event is aimed at business professionals of all levels and roles wanting to improve their skills in effective human resource management. 


This London Business Hub virtual event is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund's (ERDF) Hub & Spoke Project; as a result, a range of data points must be collected to assess your company's eligibility for the event.

Companies must:

  • Be based in London
  • Be registered in the UK
  • Meets the SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) criteria according to the European SME definition
  • Is not "Undertaking in Difficulty" as of 31 December 2019. Please see the definition here
  • Has not received more than €200,000 in public funds over the last three fiscal years
